Job overview

We are recruiting a Sexual and Reproductive Health Nurse to join our team at Manchester Action on Street Health (MASH).

Based at the MASH Centre the Nurse will see patients independently and deliver clinics to women who sex work. The nurse will also undertake outreach to massage parlours and outreach on the MASH mobile van. The post involves working at least one evening per week.

The post holder will be employed and managed by MASH but receive training and clinical governance from The Northern Contraception, Sexual Health and HIV Service.

It is an occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010 (Schedule 9, part 1) for this post to be filled only by a woman.

The post is subject to DBS checks, suitable references, and completion of a 6-month probation period.

Main duties of the job:

Some of the key duties of the role are

To deliver services in clinical settings and on outreach

Use expertise and clinical skills to accurately assess patients individual needs in relation to contraception, sexual health and HIV and manage their care appropriately.

Perform asymptomatic screening, venepuncture, vaccination, and sexual health screening and health advice for clients as appropriate.

Undertake clinics examination using observation inspection and examinations as appropriate working as an autonomous practitioner.

Undertake the administration of contraception and medication under agreed Patient Group Directions or as a non-medical prescriber.

Person Specification

Some of the key experience required for this post is:

Registered nurse minimum of 1 years experience in sexual and reproductive health at Band 5 or above

Accredited post registration qualification in Sexual and Reproductive Health

Experience of working with women with multiple and complex needs
