Network Board
 

The overall aim of the Board to is to ensure the strategic development of Sexual Health Services in line with recommendations contained within the national strategy, standards and local priorities by coordinating and supporting the work of the Sectors and Local Implementation Groups. The Board currently meet bi-monthly.

The Board will provide co-ordination as follows:

  • Develop with the Sectors a Strategic Network Delivery Plan.
  • Set the direction and parameters for Priority Action Groups and validate recommendations.
  • Ensure equitable provision of services and seamless transition from primary to tertiary care.
  • Consider and prioritise development proposals.
  • Be accountable for Sector development.
  • Develop a network wide clinical governance strategy and quality assurance systems.
  • Ensure effective participation and contribution of all key stakeholders.
  • Develop a system of peer support and review of services.
  • Ensure effective collaborative commissioning arrangements.
  • Ensure effective coordination of tertiary level and specialist service provision.
  • Develop a Communication Strategy across the Network.
  • Develop with Sectors and Priority Action Groups information systems to inform and support decisions on service developments.

The Greater Manchester Sexual Health Network Board will take an overarching strategic view and act as the final arbiter for any disagreement between Sectors in providing advice affecting the work of Sexual Health Services in Greater Manchester.
